Year 12 Camp - A Perfect Introduction to our most important school year

On the very first day of Year 12, our most important school year, we all bundled onto buses and began the two hour trip to Bacchus Marsh. On the way there was plenty to talk about with the two month summer holidays just behind us. Despite being a very hot and dry day, everyone was enthusiastic to begin the activities and challenges we would face over the next three days.

On arrival we gathered into our activity groups. Activities included canoeing, archery, high ropes, mountain biking and the giant swing. Every group also took part in a special seminar that focused on how to deal with stress and how to do your best in the VCE. All the activities pushed people's boundaries and took them our of their comfort zones, but were fun and exciting at the same time.

During free time, we spent our time in the pool, playing cricket, tennis and basketball and just catching up with friends. At night we participated in several activities including watching the year 12 movie, Look Both Ways, and then listened to an entertaining speaker who warned us about the hazards of drugs and alcohol.

The camp was a perfect introduction to year 12 and new friendships were made and old ones reunited.
