Classroom Music
Classroom music is a core subject in Year 8 and is offered as an elective from Year 9 to VCE. Students learn listening, analysing, singing, composing, playing and using music technology.
Facilities
All music rooms are multifunctional. The college has 6 dedicated music rooms used for lessons, practice, band rehearsals and classroom music.
Recording
The college has both basic and sophisticated recording equipment and, where possible, recordings of performances are made available through the school’s website and directly from the teacher involved. The college produces a CD each year to showcase the best live and studio recordings.
BSC Bands Program
The college has many different types of bands and performing groups ranging from small groups of 2 or 3 up to large bands with 20 players or more.
The following bands are run by the music staff and rehearse once or twice a week.

» Rock Bands
Independent (Rock) Bands
The Independent (Rock) Bands are usually formed by groups of friends who get together to write songs or just play music. The style of music, number of players and instruments involved are flexible. The college has at times up to 7 or 8 of these bands rehearsing each week.
All bands are encouraged to perform at every opportunity in the amphitheatre for the students at lunch as well as outside of the college.
