Brighton Secondary College has adopted a student netbook program for all senior students. The program has proved to be so successful it is now being extended to the junior school.
All year 10-12 students have been issued with their own personal netbooks, a compact version of a laptop. In 2012, year 7 students will be issued netbooks in semester 1.
These devices are proving to be effective learning tools and the aim is for all BSC students to have a netbook within the next few years.
Through a netbook, a student can complement learning that takes place in the classroom using software programs, referring to resources that have been downloaded onto the netbook, or working with audio, picture or video files that have been saved.
The College is constantly looking at ways to integrate ICT into the curriculum and help make learning more interactive and engaging for students.
